Our issue requires breakup within the State-Of: MO.<br />
My spouse and that I are considering seperating. She's MS which demands excessively costly medications that will be taken care of by my insurance. If we officially separate she's off my insurance, as well as purchasing it through Component D medicare is super-expensive. We've discussed simply seperating and that I might maintain her on my insurance and become accountable for her medical. I spoke to some lawyer in regards to a post-nuptial contract that could specify who gets what, but I'm worryed about her accumulating a charge card statement, that will be among the good reasons for seperating. He essentially stated that the post-nup wouldn't be ironclad but when we seperated balances it's extremely improbable that her credit card issuers might come after me. I am aware that MO isn't a residential area home condition and that's why they might not get me to pay for her expenses. Additionally he explained we may place in the post-nuptial contract that people aren't responsible for potential personal obligations of course if it proceeded to breakup this may be properly used the events debt might emerge of the share of the separate. I'm about out-of suggestions with this problem, therefore any suggestions might aid. Cheers

If you check your health insurance contract, you may find that separation is enough to disqualify her from benefits. You should start there.

Good point, I have not posed this question. Not sure how they would prove we are seperated, if there is nothing on paper except the post nuptial if I went that route.
