Pre-Employment Drug Test Questions Regarding Illinois Law?

Postby atworth49 » Tue Nov 22, 2011 12:27 am

I'm in no way trying to cheat the test, I just have a few questions regarding the legal procedures of drug testing in Illinois. Are employers required to give you a waiver to sign? If so, how much notice are you given? I have been sober on my job hunt for two months now, so I know I'll pass, but I just got hired at Dairy Queen, and they have yet to test me, and I have signed no waivers or consent forms. I want to get back into my old "habits", but i don't want to have a test sprung on me by surprise when i feel I'm safe after working a few times. Does Illinois law require employers to give you a consent form? Or will I be safe since I signed no such document?

Pre-Employment Drug Test Questions Regarding Illinois Law?

Most likely you will be asked to sign so they can ask you to submit a drug test anytime. Randoms. The likelihood of you being tested is slim just be careful how you show up on the job. Do NOT fall or get hurt or they will make you fill an incident report and get tested to avoid worker's comp. I did a search and found that some do.http://www.testclear.com/dtcompanies/companyresults.aspx?CompanyName=dairy+queen Since it's independently owned it's hard to say. Try to talk to some people and see once you start working. Worst case scenario do have a substitution ready. Google it. Best one is quick fix.

PS. congrats on the job

EDIT: Oh yea...4.20 Well, I'll tell you this much. Most give consent forms or make you sign a paper indicating they are a drug free place but it doesn't mean you're not subject to a drug test. When do you start work? If you start before 4.20 then feel comfortable then go ahead. BUT order the sub. Trust me it's worth the money. As long as you have the right temp it's a guaranteed pass. Check forums on marijuana.com also.
