Private Party Auto Sale - Lemon Law (Oregon) for transmission going out within 10 miles?

Postby winfrid12 » Sun May 27, 2012 7:48 am

I sold a car and the buyer is taking me to small claims court because he said the transmission went out within 10 miles. Bill of Sale says "as is". Mediator mentioned 'as is", but also breaking down within the 10 miles being a problem. What can you tell me? References to research this?

As-is means as-is in court. You'll win. Don't get into any details. Just show the bill of sale and that's that.

ONLY 10 MILES!? You're screwed! If ONLY he had driven 11 miles.... (can you detect the sarcasm there?? I sure hope so).

Let him sue. He will not win. ALL used car sales and "as-is"...period! End of conversation!

Nothing to research. You win. Just show up & be respectful.

Its not your fault they tore the car up.

No such thing as a used car lemon law.
