Is there a lemon law or anything similar regarding cell phones in oregon?

Postby gideon » Thu Apr 12, 2012 8:31 am

I am going on 4 warranty replacements of ONE phone (due to faulty equipment) from sprint and they are refusing to give me any other phone or do anything to rectify the situation. Can I cancel the line without an early termination fee or do SOMETHING since every replacement phone I've received from them does not work? Doesn't that void my contract on their end if they do not fulfill their end of the contract that states they will provide me with a service & functioning equipment for that service?

There is no lemon law for cell phones, that is really designated to motor vehicles. You need to get out the original papers and receipts from when you started the contract and read it thoroughly. The warranty will be described in detail in that paperwork. However, if you are being given unsatisfactory service, if you haven't already done so speak to upper management about getting a different model or brand of phone, as you are unable to properly use the device they've provided. You can cancel the membership but it's almost a guarantee that they'll charge you for it. Call and get an address and names/reference numbers for ammo and write them a formal letter (keep a photocopy) if they continue to treat you like that. First ask if you can switch out to a different type of phone because I bet you they're sending you referbished phones. It's crappy but they do that to cut down on cost. They may charge you extra if the phone is more expensive, but it could be worth it in the long run. If all else fails file a complaint, tell them you're filing with the Better Business Bureau and follow through. They really don't want bad press and the loss of a customer who'll badmouth the company will cost them prospective sales. Another option is to take the piece of crap to the local store and get face to face with a manager because they won't be able to blow you off like the folks on the phone will. You can show them that the darned thing isn't working and they'll see how upset you are. The best advice I can give you is stay cool, firm, and collected because if you get emotional or angry they'll be reluctant to go the extra mile for you.

Different from other electronics, cell phones have become the necessity of every one's daily life. If someone still has no idea of mobile phones, you must say that "Out!" of course except the senior citizens. To be honest, cell phones really bring us lots of benefits. We use it for talking, sending and playing. With it, our life can be modern one, without it, we will be live in the Mars, you know, know nothing about each other. But do cell phones have no disadvantages? Of course not, more and more people are using cell phones at the cost of other interests. Noises are everywhere, especially the one of mobile phones. What should we do, throw them away? It is a stupid behavior. Have you ever heard cell phone signal booster? It is a new kind of device to solve this problem, effective in blocking the signals of your cell phone and its nearby base station. one side, the mobile phone really benefits us a lot, but another side we also benefit from its noises for a long time, so the fight between the cell phone and cell phone jammer has been a hot topic in society now. Which side you stand by, jamming or not, it depends on you.
