Ok so i work casual part-time is my employer by law obliged to give me at least 1 shift a week and if i dont get paid on time constantly should i take it to consumer affairs

An employer isn't even obligated to keep you around so no he's not required to give a minimum number of shifts. In any event consumer affairs is where you go if you buy a toaster oven and the manufacturer fails to honor their warranty.
A little something frm a recient article follows below:


"Most workers in the private sector don't understand that, unless they live in Montana and Arizona, their job is at-will," says Paul Secunda, an assistant professor of law at the University of Mississippi. "At-will means an employee can be fired for good cause…or no cause at all."

Have you signed a contract to work specific hours? Do you belong to a union? Talk to consumer affairs or the union to find the answers.
