You go into court for your scheduled appearance and talk to the judge. Ask that she/he remove one of the citations, given your spotless record and the fact that they were for the same violation.
DO NOT tell her that the speed limit should be higher. Whether or not this is true, its inappropriate to bring it up and will not help your case at all; it just makes you look like you don't respect the speed limit.
By the way, in most areas going over double the limit is actually a felony, and is usually cited as "attempted vehicular manslaughter". You got off pretty lucky. If you have to pay both tickets, you should still be grateful.
