Search Engine Positioning.

Postby Auhert » Mon Jun 09, 2014 5:00 am

Hi Jim

I heard if identical pages are listed in the search engines under different domains that it can lower your rank and be regarded as spam. But with one domain being redirected to another via my host in the way described below, is there any risk of my domains being downgraded and mistaken as spam by the search engines?

I have set up a new domain name at http://truesolutions.info and I have set it up so it redirects to the page at http://www.advantagein.com/overview.htm . However, if someone typed in http://truesolutions.info into the address bar of their browser, the page at http://www.advantagein.com/overview.htm would be displayed but the address would remain as http://truesolutions.info

Is there any risk this could be mistaken as spam and downgraded by the search engines?

Also, what do you think of my websites?

Your help will be appreciated

Regards Richard.

Search Engine Positioning.

Redirects will not effect the search engine positioning of the page being redirected to, though it does not regard it as a true link.

With regards to your site, it is put together well and supplies the information in an organized method.

There is no Character Encoding or DOCTYPE listed within the page, which can effect some search engine stats. You may want to visit http://validator.w3.org/ and validate your page. This site will explain how to do this and walk you through fixing any errors you may have.

I would also suggest replacing the large green bar image and replacing it with a horizontal rule in order to make it look more professional.
