ConsumerDate: 6/7/2008 eight:30:16 PM Member Preceding To: 12/five/2005Hello,I'd a massive piff-paff with [a telecommunications company] back in 2002 and [they] offered my debt considering that then and I believe it is now the 4th of 5th business that's reporting it on my credit report. It comes and goes based who is the next who buys.Does that imply that according to the:"Accounts not paid as agreed usually stay on your credit file for 7 years from the day the account 1st became previous due leading to the present not paid status."this choice have to vanish from credit report as soon as and for all and if an additional business buys the debt, they can not report it?Or it'll be living forever on my credit report given that the debt will be presented and reopened from time to time? Thanks so considerably.Anne

The rule is 7 years from the FIRST default, which presumably occurred in 2002.
Ergo, this one should fall off your credit reports sometime in 2009.
However, as adjuster jack noted, "reaging" of debts is not uncommon on credit reports.
You will have to be vigilant here.

It's not supposed to appear on your credit report after 7 years and it's not supposed to be continuously reported. But you can bet that it will probably happen and you'll have to use the credit bureau's dispute process to get the entry removed.

I really hope additional reactions are helpful. When you registered this website, you said you'd read and might publish consistent with its Guidelines, the very first which says that companies aren't to be described by title. I modified and reposted your message, omitting the business's name.AngieCommunity Moderator
