Seniors, Have you ever had to deal with corruption, the governing powers that be? Video.?

The town I live in, like the state, is known for corruption, Sin City. Seems like with some people in below links it has always been one fight after another. Local old timers were always saying.."don't rock the boat," or "not to fight corrupt city hall." So finally I see the best program on TV news that at least showed the tip of the ice-berg. So, have you... ever took a stand or two or more? Do you turn your head to it all? Not do anything until it hits too close to home? Total pacifist? Wealthy and enjoy living above it all? Or are you like me in being somewhat the radical and tired of it all, and sad to see America fall into such dis-repairs and utter hopelessness. Even being harassed by law enforcement, abused, and falsely jailed just for... fighting the corruption that local media won't even report on, or national news won't come investigate. Have you lost property rights? Been jailed for not paying medical bills? Lost freedom of speech? Have media 'black-outs' in your area? Dealt with corrupt police, attorneys, politicians, bureaucracy, courts?

It happens frequently because in their (police) eyes the end justifies the means. No one polices the police (unless you count the "look the other way" potential when an entity polices it self).
European countries have ombudsmen whose job is to investigate citizen complaints against officials like police. The fact that this occupation doesn't exist in the US is not only indicative of the lack of necessary concern about police corruption but also opens the door for it.
Here's another way we know:
Police will tell us they confiscated "x" amt.and a later date they destroyed "y" amt. but we never see information that ledgers accountability. For all we know they're only destroying half of the drugs and the other half is back on the street. If they were proud of the accounting they would make that public.
Police risk their life every day. It's easy to see how some may feel they are under paid. The perqs are at their disposal.
