Sepsis Caused By C-section

Postby Yissachar » Fri Jun 06, 2014 12:04 am

I had an emergency cesarean section with my 5 month old son. At time of discharge from the hospital I told the nurse I wasn't feeling well and felt feverish she replied it was just my breast milk coming in. I was released from the hospital that day, it was a Friday I had the c-section on Monday. On Sunday morning a visiting nurse came to my home at that point I was in severe pain she told me I needed to go directly back to the ER or she would have to call an ambulance. I went to the emergency room where it was dicovered that my body was septic due to ecoli poisoning, I had a severe kidney infection, plurecy, the bottoms of my lungs had collapsed among other health issues. I was sent to ICU and approx. a week later released from the hospital again. Within 2 days I was violently ill again, I was sick the entire time but it became unbearable again, this time I went to a Boston city hospital ER. It was discovered that I had hypotention the nurse stated I could have a stroke with my blood pressure that high also I still had a severe kidney infection as well as a growth on my right kidney and a localized infection in my right kidney. I was admitted to the hospital again to be treated for several health issues. The oncologist stated to me "You never should have been discharged from that hospital this ill". I spent approximately 1 month in hospitals and my mother had to take 5 weeks off of work to care for my newborn son. The medical problems lingered on for about 2 months and there is possibly permanent damage to my right kidney. I am contemplating suing the hospital that infected me and released me 2 times with a deadly infection and other health problems. I would like advice regarding all of these issues. Obvioulsy there is a lot more to it but this is the short version. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you for your time, Jill

You may have a case, Jill, but the facts are far too  complicated to advise you. You need to find a competent medical malpractice attorney in the city where this occurred and have him evaluate your case.

Be aware there are short time limits that apply so you need to move fast on this.

Good Luck,
