Should i appologize to him or just talk with him?

so this about a guy in my uni classes... In first class he smiled at me.. then in second class he tried to help me when i was doing my work..when i was asking the teacher a question he came and said he has the notes..but then the teacher said she is asking a question she does not need the notes. in the third class, he raised his eyebrows when he saw me.. and i smiled to him because he was a friendly person... in fourth class he did nothing except when i was done the class, he was sitting in one of those cubicles for studying...he said bye and that is when I noticed he was sitting there... usually no one sits there at 7 pm... plus he was not even studying.. he was just sitting there facing the hallway so he scared me when he did that..and I ignored him and walked by as if he was not there. I was surprised by this action....didn't expect it at all.he also kinda got angry(from his facial expressions) when i didn't reply.. I know this was rude but he scared me plus i was in a bad mood already this day because my brother was sick. do you think i should talk to him ...or just ignore it since i don't know him.

id be hurt by what you did even though i dont know you. because i would try to be pleasant and friendly and if you acted that way id think wow what a cow :)

id go up and say hi and smile and say hey, sorry if i seemed startled last time i was scared and had a bad day! let him know he will be comforted by that
