My organization partner and I are forming an LLC for a movie that has just began production. Each of us have our own corporations for production produced years ago and are in good standing. What are the benefits to producing the LLC with individual(non-corporate) members vs. corporate members(making use of are existing corporations)? Any feedback is much appreciated.

Effectively I am a lawyer, and I agree with the basic advice that essential legal decisions have the advantage of a educated and skilled attorney. But to say no far more than that is not helpful and does not answer the query. My general suggestions would be to figure out a way to avoid forming yet one more business, and employing one of the partner's existing firms as a legal and financial vehicle for the project. If a single company needs the resources of the other, they can contract with every other. And there are books on these "selection of entity" queries that will help you get informed your self, so you can exploit the advice an attorney can give.

Why ask us here when there are lawyers who REALLY know what the difference is. Spend a buck(or $250) and get a lawyer to investigate what you are doing and what would be your best choice. You should have your own lawyer, he should have his own lawyer, and when it is done, you should have a third lawyer who you call for LLC questions. Never go cheap on your lawyer, therapist, accountant, dentist, or Doctor. All good businessmen have experts who handle details for them. If you are going to be in business, get your crew of experts ready! Most of the time they are free, but when you need them, they can never be replaced.
