Should I Pay A Speeding Ticket In Ca, If My Driver Licence Data Entered In The Ticket Was Incorrect?

Should I Pay A Speeding Ticket In Ca, If My Driver Licence Data Entered In The Ticket Was Incorrect?

Postby Morland » Thu Jan 09, 2014 12:45 am

I am a foreigner, Slovakia resident. I got a $370 speeding ticket in CA. Policeman took my data, but got all incorrect, apart from my name - both my address and the licence number. I was driving a rental auto(obviously the data is right). Now this is a higher amount and I would rather try to steer clear of it. I do visit CA once in a whilst. What do you believe? Can they still arrest me? Can they track me down primarily based on the rental data(my credit card, passport, and so forth.)BTW. The court date has already passed..

Not sure about Calif. In Texas if your name, gender and licence number is correct that is all that is necessary to convict you.I would be very careful driving if I were you.   usmc 26 months ago

The cheapest thing to do would be to just pay the fine and be done with it, which you did and now you can put it behind you. Hiring an attorney would have cost a heck of a lot more,   Trekincat 26 months ago

You should have gone to court when you had the chance, and tell the judge what you told us, there was a very good chance the ticket would have been thrown out or greatly reduced. BUT you chose to blow off the court date, there is probably a warrant out for you now. You've just added to your headache. You need to contact the court NOW and get this straightened out, if not you can expect to spend some jail time.   Trekincat 26 months ago

It was you. And know you have a warrant for your arrest, as you missed court. Good luck getting back into the country, after you leave.   TurboB 26 months ago
