Sis In Law Troubles... Help? Advice?

My sister-in-law, who married by husbands brother is tremedously competative. Very her way or the highway type personality, even with her own husband. My inlaws are very passive and won't say anything when she is rude, or selfish, or obviouslty being very difficult... all my inlaws, including my husband won't say anything, even though I know it bugs them.

I try and hang out with her, try to be her "sister" and build a friendship since we will be in each others lives, but she never returns phone calls or texts, spends limited time with our side of the family but requires her husband spend his time with her family.

My husband and I brother are close and my husband just misses hanging with his brother so much. I feel my sis-in-law hates me, but I am trying to build a relationship so that way she WANTS to hang out with us more... thus solving ALL the problems...

Advice? Tips?

She doesn't hate you. She is jealous and insecure. You gotta be carefree and don't sweat the small stuff. In-laws are just like this, it's common. Don't try really hard to impress her or go out of your way for her. Remember she's your sister, not just a friend. If she does something stupid to piss you off, get over it. When she sees it doesn't bother you, you win! Don't ever fight with her, and be cool.
