Site For Calling And Shaming - Can People Sue

Postby Plys » Thu Jun 12, 2014 8:12 am

This issue pertains to slander and defamation on the internet therefore views and information on the regulations from everybody in most nations could be welcomed.
I'm focusing on a site where individuals may add information on occasions or people who have irritated them or caused them damage. If particular facts or pictures are published on the internet site - may the people being reported sue who owns the web site alone?
I am assuming that websites ssuch as facebook should have this type of problem - and question how they're treated.
I'm from UK therefore British regulation especially of interest.
Cheers

You have to reread the prior response.
Significantly - defamation laws change from Condition to Convey in america, and undoubtedly from country to nation. There's no body "on the internet" area, so that your issue must be specific.
And truly - nobody will invest their time doing research or studying numerous regulations within any given nation with out a very good reason to complete so.
You observe, that is YOUR job.
