So, democrat give-aways solve poverty?

Postby jabarl » Wed Jun 27, 2012 9:23 am

Stop
It's morally dishonest for a party to do everything in their power to make blue collar Americans poor and then cry about those poor ppl needing welfare to survive

Educating our population and getting them working is what solves poverty, actually. Welfare (I assume this is what you mena by give-aways?) insures that people don't starve and it should be temporary, except to those who are genuinely unable to work. Yet, the Republicans want to take away from our education system AND they continue to give tax breaks to companies that send American jobs out of the country so they can boost their profits. How does THAT help poverty, exactly?

Perhaps if Government ran Government and people took care of themselves and their family members there would not be poverty.
We need people helping people not government controlling people and their paychecks.

It sure helped bring the liberals hero Warren Buffet's son out of poverty

""But with corn prices soaring, he can afford it. And, incidentally, even a farmer named Buffett can get farm subsidies. Howard received $300,000 in federal payments over 13 years.""

the great society was going to end poverty. lyndon johnson declared war on poverty. it was about 12-15% then. he spent the entire social security account building projects, community centers, started welfare. he put the salvation army out of business. when welfare was religious in nature, the recipient were never encouraged to make it a lifestyle. the government bureaucracies created and the unions it feeds has consumed a large portion of the budget.yet poverty remains the same. the same % as when this 60 year unfunded liberal democrat war. zero results is the standard with government regulations.
