Postby lamarr3 » Sun Dec 29, 2013 12:50 pm

My back is becoming very unpleasant(harm as a result of vehicle crash five years ago), and evidently medium-firm mattresses would be the method to take, but I am having a far far more difficult time obtaining speecific manufacturer guidelines. Any recommendations?

Some Choice-company Bed Tips?

Zuma stated: 3 I have attempted your regular Sealy Posturepedic bedding, then memory-foam along with that but what actually did the secret for me personally was an really heavy feather bed. I am speaing frankly about a foot-higher-loft when its all fluffed up, so its really, quite soft. A wonderful cushion also tends to make lots of distinction. I locate a low cushion of soft foam is most efficient for me personally. 52 weeks previously

and get an idea of firmness. You can actually do more damage with a bad soft mattress, even lying down, if you are not careful.   Try them all out, and don't be shy. Also don't let the salesman hover. that way you can relax and enjoy it.   bring pen and paper with you and note down the models you want.   Then once you have narrowed it down to a couple of brands/the brand you want, comparison shop on line. Also keep in mind the size of the mattress and the box spring and how high it will be. if they store is having a sale, you can always go back to buy it but make sure you get a good deal on things like shipping if that is the case.   Don't forget that the box spring is also an essential part of the whole bed in terms of support, and wil be priced separately, and you will need it even if you have a platform bed, in which case, get the low rise if it is available.   I got my bed from Sears, a Sealy(serta is another great brand) for half of what it usually costs. Look to spend about 700-$1000 on a good mattress in full to queen size, unless like I said you get a good sale.    One final point-watch your sheets--some mattresses are so thick that the fitted sheets will not go over them in the corners.   Sept oct is a pretty good time to shop for housewares, as people are getting ready for the holidays and there are good sales on.   Best of luck and hope you find a great bed at a bargain price.

Some Medium-firm Mattress Recommendations?

Postby Newell » Mon Jan 20, 2014 3:26 pm

This is the matress I got Reversible 7.5-inch Foam Twin XL Mattress from Overstock .com   I had been suffering from debilitating back pain for 5 months before I bought this mattress, doctors and chiropractors said they couldn't do anything for me and that I would have to let it work itself out. The first night I slept on this mattress, I slept for 14 hours, by far the best sleep I had in almost half a year. I had bought several mattresses before this one during that 5 month period, but none had helped my back. While I'm still in pain, I can at least walk upright now, and can actually walk around the grocery store. I got a twin sized mattress, but they have other sizes available as well.   Sources: http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garden/Reversible-7.5-inch-Foam-Twin-XL-Mattress/3723703/product.html ojpete1977 52 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Some Medium-firm Mattress Recommendations?

Postby Sike » Thu Jan 30, 2014 3:54 am

I've tried your standard Sealy Posturepedic mattress, then memory-foam on top of that; but what really did the trick for me was a very thick feather bed. I'm talking about a foot-high loft when its all fluffed up, so its very, very soft. A good pillow also makes a lot of difference. I find a low pillow of soft foam works best for me.

Some Medium-firm Mattress Recommendations?

Postby Symington » Tue Feb 18, 2014 4:52 pm

My husband and I swear by our matress--it was pricey, but, about 12+ years later, it is literally still as good as new. We bought one of those Select Comfort mattresses back before they had 'sleep numbers.' It is basically an air mattress that each person can set for his or her comfort level. It canalso be reset with the push of a button as often as you choose. My husband likesa s softer mattress than I do. All these years later, we are still both as satisfied with our mattress as we were on day one There has been absolutely no deterioration over time, which, to us, also helps to justify the original price.Whatever you end up buying, good luck with your back!
