Okay so here's my situation. At first I thought I wanted to get into Speech Therapy, but later through the year I changed my mind (not uncommon in students), and I now really want to get into nursing. I couldn't reapply to the nursing program at my chosen university because the application for it closes so I am enrolled in public health, with the intention of switching into a nursing program the following year. The classes I am taking, although the nursing program has restricted classes, can be substituted. I have a good enough average from high school but here is my question. I do not have my grade 12 chemistry which is needed and I’m not what the best course of action in getting it is. So my options are
-take grade 12 online
-take night school, and take only 4 of the 5 classes at uni. and apply
-wait till next summer and take chemistry (only I cant apply till the next year so that doesn't really help)
-take it at the actual uni. ( think you can do that, don’t know?)
If I take chemistry at night school, the work load of that and 5 uni. courses will be hard to manage (personally for me). My mom said that she took night school and it’s not that bad. Only thing, if I take night school and take only 4 of the courses am I ruining my chances of getting into a nursing program when I apply or does it not really matter? If my high school average, and the fact that I have a leg up from already being in uni. good enough? I know nursing programs are competitive but that’s not stopping me, I want to get in. What is the best thing to do? Are my chances ruined if I take night school? Is it okay if I take night school and only four uni classes?
