Supreme Court fees?

Generally a plaintiff has to pay court costs regardless of who lives. There are just set fees for making certain filings. Also, when a plaintiff loses, they tend to have to pay the defendant's court costs and lawyer fees. The amount is not set by any statute, but depends on how much the lawyers cost.

It sounds like you're being order to pay court fees plus the costs to the defendant. Most states allow the court to make a detrmination as to if the plaintiff must pay the defendants fees (lawyer, court, etc). In a number of them in comes down to was the suit filed for good reason. (ie was the suit not frivilous, simply venageful, etc)
