Taking Contributions Toward College

Postby Elgine » Thu Jun 19, 2014 4:01 am

I'm contemplating running advertisements requesting individuals to contribute $1 for my university education. This is applied to repay my figuratively speaking, of course if there's any remaining is likely to be used-to return to college.
Can it be authorized for me to get this done?
A) I plan to make use of the cash for that stated objective;
W) I'll by no means be deceptive anybody;
D) I'm providing nothing in exchange;
N) I recognize this really is taxable and that I can give the government the things they believe they deserve.

Soliciting Contributions Toward College

I assume you're not referring to panhandling. A website, perhaps?

It probably wouldn't be illegal to solicit $1 gifts toward your college, and as gifts the money would ordinarily be taxable to the giver as opposed to you.
