Texas History 4th And 7th Grade Teachers. Would You Be Interested In A Texas Rangers History And Education Center?

The Texas Ranger Division, commonly called the Texas Rangers, is a law enforcement agency with statewide jurisdiction based in Austin, the capital of Texas, in the United States. Over the years, the Texas Rangers have investigated crimes ranging from murder to political corruption, acted as riot police and as detectives, protected the Texas governor, tracked down fugitives, and functioned as a paramilitary force at the service of both the Republic(1836?45) and the state of Texas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Ranger_DivisionThe Texas Rangers Division is opening the Texas Rangers History and Education Center in Kerrville, Texas. I want to first see if teachers and students would be interested in what the center has to offer. Would you like to use any specific resources? Would you like to visit the Center, etc.If you aren't from Texas, but do teach history, what are the things important to you and your students as far as resources and learning centers? Thanks!!

I would be interested in the History and Education Center(I'm a teacher in the Austin area); however, I have a question. Would it replace the Texas Ranger museum that already exists in Waco?As a teacher, I would like for the Center to have an internet presence. By that I mean, I would like a website that might have lesson ideas and resources for me to use BEFORE I take my classes to the Center. This could include lessons to introduce the Rangers as a whole, specific rangers, and Texas history. It could also have activities that students could do while at the center. So that I have my class prepared.
