The Prevailing Condition In Kashmir Is Quite Disturbing. A Milder Response By Security Forces And The Use Of Internationally Accepted Ways Of Dispersing Crowds Would Have Reduced Civilian Killings And Helped Rein In Tensions That Have Once Again Put Kashmir In The Internationals Spotlight Is The Widely Held View. Should Govt. Use Non-lethal Tecqniques To Despise Protestors In The Valley?

Security foces should use non-lethal methods like rubber bullets and water cannons to disperse protesters in the Valley. Some non-lethal weapons may provide more effective riot control than firearms, truncheons or bayonets with less risk of loss of life or serious injury. Non-lethal weapons, some of which are also called less-lethal weapons, less-than-lethal weapons, non-deadly weapons, pain-inducing weapons or, more recently, compliance weapons are weapons intended to be less likely to kill a living target than are conventional weapons. Non-lethal weapons are used in combat situations to limit the escalation of conflict or where employment of lethal force is prohibited or undesirable or where rules of engagement require minimum casualties or policy restricts the use of conventional force. Non-Lethal devices are intended to confuse, disorient, or momentarily distract potential threat persons. The use of water cannons and fire trucks has remained an effective nonlethal tactic to dispers
