Dear customer, I have attached a section for the Vehicle & Traffic Law that deals with towing:
(c) No vehicle shall be towed by a rope or other non-rigid connection which is longer than sixteen feet.

(d) A motor vehicle being towed by a rope or other non-rigid connection must have a licensed driver in such motor vehicle who shall steer it when it is being towed.

Towing a vehicle with a chain?

Put the chain in a steel pipe between the two auto to keep them from hitting each other. That`s what we do back in the sticks.were I live. Because just using a chain alone was against the law.

Here in Michigan you have to use a TOW strap and a car cannot tow a car it must be a truck that tows.

Use a tow strap. That's what it's made for. The reason chain is illegal it has too much of a chance to break.

Call a tow truck. A chain on the front will damage the bottom half of the car. Just remember I told you so. Most tow companies charge $40. Trust me the front of the car is worth atleast $1000.... Drive train damage is a real good chance the Tranny or suspension with need replacing.or repair.

Bad thing's can happen when towing, if you use a chain don't use a knot, hooks rattle loose if not under tension. Wire the hook onto link, back-road it, both drivers best be experienced, if cop doesn't have anything better to do I'm sure they will site you a law, where you then play ignorant oops I'm sorry.
