Unpaid traffic tickets in CA?

Unpaid parking tickets result in bench warrants, so yes, you could be arrested. No one's going to come to your home, but if you are stopped and the officer runs a check on you, s/he would be able to arrest you on the spot.

Unpaid traffic tickets in CA?

You certainly can. A Failure to Appear warrant will be issued. After that, it depends. Nothing may happen until the next traffic stop - when the computer check is done and the warrant shows up, the car will be towed and impounded (that is going to cost several hundred dollars separate from any fines for the traffic tickets) and the individual is going to jail. Or, depending on the city, they will come around to the last known address and give you the option - pay the bail on the ticket right then or go to jail. I had that happen to me about 35 years ago - about 6 PM on a Friday night. Luckily, the officers were nice enough to drive me to my bank and let me take the money out of the ATM - and luckily I had enough - or I would have spent the weekend in jail.
