Us Employment For Canadians

Leslie,

One way would be to send out your resume to American companies or contact companies you would be interested in working for directly. If they are interested in hiring you they could sponsor you for a work visa. If you could afford to come to the states(you can come to the US for up to 6 months without a visa as a visitor)to look for a job it might be easier. Larger companies/corporations should be easier to secure employment with. Talk with others at your community college to see if they have any connections in the US that you might be able to network with.

Check out the website www.canadausaemployers.com. it has information on it concerning immigration laws. They also help secure employment but they do charge a fee. Also check out www.h1base.com - it too has information concerning immigration laws and visas and green cards.

Here is a link specifically for Canadian IT professionals that might be of some help to you http://www.grasmick.com/computer.htm

I hope that this information proves helpful to you. Good luck.
