Vinyl Siding

Postby Vaughn » Thu Jun 05, 2014 4:04 am

How to buy vinyl siding for new construction in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma?  Existing has stucco.  Will remove this in the future-when funds become available.

We are adding 1000 sq ft of new construction to an existing 1930's frame house.  Our carpenter wants to put vinyl siding on the new construction.  What factors should be looked at in determining vinyl purchase?  Thank you for your opinions.

sincerely,

Marq Pratt

Hello Marq,

I better believe in old carpenters. I are one with 40 years of this. The differences are that I was forced by our employees to go forward and learn even more. Sorry, just the way it worked out. So my jobs have been train them, learn more to protect them, and sell more work for the last 20 years.

DRAINABLE WALL SYSTEMS ARE KEY! LINK TO HERE: http://construction.tyvek.com/en/index.shtml

Vinyl sweats a lot on the back side as humidity levels vary. By now, you most probably leave your a/c on 24/7 according to the stats. This also creates moisture; hence the sole origin of the mold lawsuits. It/stats got over 50% turning on a/c s.

Your biggest factors nowadays are our current building systems brought forth as a results of changing habits of homeowners that have severely affected builders/remodelors/lead carpenters former building very successful building practices. All of you customers and/or clients changed you habits.

DuPont has taken years toward a proactive approach to our concerns. Guess, they just got tired of the public collecting the class action suits from the big corporate world? It remains definitive, and positive for the remainder of us. Skipping across the digression, read the tyvek link well. Tons are there for you and your carpenter to learn. FYI: If pink, do not wrap. If blue, do not wrap. If poly, definitely do not touch. The whole world has changed.
