¿Question?
Ok. Looonngg story...
So... I was trying to pay rent online from our apartment community website. They asked for a routing # and account #. Which BTW I was using my husbands account. WELL I entered his billing info but I didn't know which routing and account# were mine and which were his.
Like I said I entered HIS billing info we do NOT have the same last name, account, nor billing address.
My mistake was that I entered my routing and account #. The thing is the website allows for transactions to be processed without verifying the billing info to verify ID.
I was of course charged a $100 late fee a $75 NSF and of course a fee at my bank because I did not have funds in my account because I never had intentions on paying with it. I feel like the website should have verified this just like ANY OTHER WEBSITE does online when processing a payment, and stopped the payment. Am I wrong or right?
The regional manager called and admitted that the website does not verify. So it means if someone finds my acount #s on the property they can pay they're rent with John Doe's address? My bank said they're wrong nd they should verify & they should reinburse me.
Should I be reimbursed? Who's wrong?
