What are my chances of getting accepted to army OCS?

Postby tonibraxton » Sun Apr 10, 2011 12:23 am

I'm currently in law school with a 3.08 GPA but do not want to be a lawyer. I would like to be an officer in the army and was wondering what my chances are of getting accepted.

I've served 2 years in the Navy Reserve
Have to BAs from Michigan State with a GPA of 3.35
98 ASVAB and a 129 GT score
No crminal record except one traffic ticket
No medical issues

Thanks for help

All that info you provided sounds great.. congrats on your accomplishments... but now it's up to how you stand medically and mentally... You say no medical issues but once you get out there for the physical training, that's when issues emerge, speak to a recruiter.. go down and get medically screened, the medical officer on deck that day will find any hidden issue you may have.. If no known conditions found.. Go for it!

Another requirement you didn't mention is your age.

Ummmm, don't go into the Army go into the Marine Corps. The Marine Corps depends on a lot of their officers to come from OCS commissioning sources because they don't have there own service academy. That is nothing against the Army but if you are looking at OCS the Marine Corps has awesome benefits, plus you will be a Marine. They will sweep you up in a heartbeat with your Quals that you just showed. You don't even have to take a standardized test, because your ASVAB score is so high. I am serious go talk to a Marine Corps Officer Selection Officer.

But to answer your question, your chances are really good in getting into OCS for the Army.
