No. Goods sold have to be of satisfactory quality, as described, and fit for purpose. An item such as this which has broken after a couple of weeks would not meet these criteria, and the shop would be obliged to give you a refund.
Up until six months after the purchase was made, the obligation rests with the shop to prove the goods weren't faulty when you bought them.
