What are my options in terms of getting internet in a rural area?

Postby achban » Fri Jun 29, 2012 12:48 am

I'm a college student, and I'm gonna start my second year in the fall. You see, I'm moving to a new place soon, and there's no DSL line running in the area where my new place is at. I considered getting satellite internet through Dish, but I have to do a 2-year contract with them if I get it, and I changed my mind on that. There's NO WAY I'm going back to dial-up, and I don't want to have to travel to a WiFi hotspot for internet every time I need to use the internet. Isn't there a way to convert a cellphone reception into WiFi or something? Will a long range WiFi booster antenna work somehow? What could I do to get internet without having to spend too much and/or bend/break the law?

I use Virgin Broadband2go, 50.oo a month, but the device cost's 85.00.. 2.5 gig a month limit!!

Now Clear has a better plan, 50.00 for the device, 50.00 a month no limits. Saving for that now.
