I agree with the issues that if this is implemented improperly it will lead to a culture of tyranny of the oppressed.   TheLightWorks 28 months ago

@COT: nowadays if you fight back against bullies their parents complain to the principal... and you can see where the kid learned it.   TheLightWorks 28 months ago

1) It's an improvement over ignoring it(which was the case 40 years ago.)2) Reporting to the police can either build a rap sheet even earlier in life or wake up the doofus, uninvolved parents. You know which I think will happen.3) This is actually an attempt to mandate morality, using public schools to force a situation where we do "all get along." It's an experiment, and as such, I really expect it to fail the first 20 times.   danielpauldavis 28 months ago

@TLW, yes you are right. It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.   ChainofThought 28 months ago

What Are Your Thoughts On The Bullying Law Enacted On New Jersey's Schools?

Postby August » Fri Feb 21, 2014 3:51 am

I have mixed feelings about this issue and when I read about it I just feel old and outdated. When I was a youngster there was only one way to deal with a bully and that was to fight back. Once the bully saw that you were the kid who didn?t take his crap he left you alone. There was a bully in my neighborhood whom my brother forced me to confront when he called me names dealing with my skin color. Once I let him know that I wasn?t going to stand for it and that I was ready to fight. He backed down and wanted to be my friend. I in turn began to feel like a man(although I was only 10 at the time) because I felt like I could take care of myself. Most bullies are just cowards.   ChainofThought 28 months ago
