What do i need to do to get my pistol permit?

Postby arber47 » Sat Dec 26, 1970 10:03 pm

i live in calhoun county alabama. and earlier last year i was living with my brother. anyway i was going to go to BK to get dinner and my brothers friend that i had just met asked if he could ride with me to pick up his grandmothers medications from the pharmacy. well on the way home i was pulled over by a drug task force agent. and they approached and talked to him. in the passenger rear window another officer approached me and asked for my id and insurance. i gave it to him and he almost immediately ask to search the car. i of course agreed because i have nothing to hide. well apparently they found some type of drug where the boy was setting stuck in my back seat. and the boy didn't tell him before he searched the car so the officer arrested me my dad my sister in law and the boy. well went to court and the charges was dropped. for christmas my grandfather got my a pistol. and now im trying to get my permit and the sheriff isn't wanting me to have it cause the incident even though i was Innocent. is there anything i can do to get my permit. or someone i can contact to help me like the nra.. i understand him wanting to keep drug users or dealers from having guns i agree with that. but i honestly didn't know the boy for about 3 hours and never new that he had that... i have never done any drug myself. and i have never had any other run in with the law what so ever. not even traffic wise. also the day after i was arrested i went to work where ive worked almost 4 years and told them exactly what happened.and agreed to a drug test and still have a copy of those results. please someone help me find some info this really upsets me because not only i cant get the permit but it is violating my right as a american citizen to have this.
