MRI:
Impression:
1. No evidence of acute infarction or acute hemorrhagic change in the brain.
2.Four or five small foci of T2 prolongation are seen in the subcortical superficial anterior portions of both frontal lobes and likely reflect areas of minor microvascular disease. These types of foci can be a consequence of chronic migrain headaches. The initial presentation of a demyelinating process is felt to be less likely but if syptoms persistm follow-up study should be considered
3.Findings consistent with acute sphenoid sinusitis.
MRV:
Impression:
1. No evidence of acute dural venous sinus thrombosis. All of the major dural venous sinuses are patent, as are the superficial cortical veins.
2. The cavernous sinuses appear to be patent with enhancement demonstrated in the cavernous sinuses on the post contrast brain imaging.
