It was asked a lot in the left, counter culture era. Are you In? Was loaded with innuendo. I'm sure you've heard folks ask a person, who brings a new guy up, "Is he cool?" Same with Are you In. It meant, hip, drug use, free love, anti-establishment, etc.

See how old phrases get hijacked. The very establishment they fought against is now themselves.
