We should never be forced to help others. That is an individual decision

it happens all the time. the most recent one I can think of is Thailand's Red Shirts vs Yellow shirts. In such cases, 1 of 3 things happens: (1) govt suppresses the rebellion (2) military coup (3) forced election

Good god he should get over his pity party, knock the damn chip off his shoulder and stop making excuses. I owe no one a thing. up to me to supplement them or not.

Wow - this "hypothetical" person has quite a few issues

I am assuming this is an "ethics" question and not a "law" question?

So the question here is - is this the most ethical choice this person could have made?

Many perople are born into poverty and don't result to violence!

Could the person have spent the effort doing something positive?

How does his death or the death of anyone else drive a change?
