What is a good book to read to get educated on Chapter 7 personal bankruptcy?

Postby parnell » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:36 pm

If I were to decide to do a personal bankruptcy I would, of course, consult and engage a lawyer.
But I want to be a good consumer of legal services and so want to learn the subject in advance so that the lawyer does not have to spend time educating me but can cut straight to discussion of the important issues and, importantly, without my losing track of what is going on, or what the significance of any specific questions might be.

So please can someone recommend and up-to-date book or other reading on the topic? Suitable for a person knowledgeable about law generally but not about bankruptcy law.

If you're looking to educate yourself on bankruptcy, remember to include resources that talk about bankruptcy alternatives. While you may qualify for chapter 7, it may be in your better interest to explore other options. Here's a book that can help you decide: http://www.credit-book-store.com/pd_good.cfm
