i work part time and when i get paid for bi weekly my hours are between 80 and 95 hours which is way over what i was told part time hours are suppose to be. i was told part time you are only suppose to get 35 hours a week so that would be 70 for 2 weeks. is there suppose to be a different pay amount for those extra hours? who can i contact about that?

You must be paid time and a half for hours over 40 in a workweek. That's federal law, not state. There's no extra pay for the hours between 35 and 40 for the week.

Your employment status is entirely up to the employer, part or full time is what ever the employer says it is there is no law that says otherwise, for benefit purposes generally 1250 in one year is considered full time not 2 weeks, as long as you are paid minimum wage and get overtime for any work over 40 hours in a work week it is legal
