What kind of camera should I get?

Postby vipponah » Thu Dec 29, 2011 7:57 am

My father has this cannon camera, it's one of the ones with a big lens and takes wicked nice pictures. The resolution is like 4000 x 2800 that's not exactly it but just so you get the gist of it. I want to get a camera like it but he said it was like $700.

I have like $230 right now which I understand is not a lot. I saw this camera here online, http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/consumer/products/cameras/digital_cameras/powershot_sx130_is#Specifications

Is this a good camera? I know it isnt a SLR but the description says it is like a compact camera with the power of an SLR. I want to make stop motion animation but idk if that camera is good enough to take high quality photos quickly. Any ideas?

The SX130 has been replaced by the SX150 and has a much smaller sensor than a DSLR... Image quality won't be nearly as good as a DSLR, it will be a good camera to start out with.
