Most laws about knives are actually just related to carrying them on your person. Laws about just buying or owning them are actually pretty rare.
One major law that anyone ordering a knife should be aware of is 15 USC 1242. Basically this law makes it illegal to sell a switchblade or a ballistic knife (shoots its blade off) across a state line. This is a federal law so applies to the entire United States. Lots of websites have switchblades for sale, but you should be warned that all of them only do so because of one of the following:
1. They only sell to people in their own state (legal)
2. They are a scammer trying to steal credit card info.
3. They are idiots who think they found some magic loophole in the law or that they can get away with it because the government doesn't care.
As for your example of a Rambo knife, I don't know of any law in any state that prohibits ordering such a knife online. it is after all just a large fixed-blade knife, just like any knife you find in a kitchen for cooking.
