In my personal state of Texas: Regulations makes it possible for when the home seller reasonably believes such force is required to steer clear of a considerable crime, which includes burglary.

What Are The Gun Laws In Your State? Do You Agree With Them? Please Explain.

Michigan has great gun laws This state needs inspection and registration of hand guns.  They have a very good program that creates a permanent record of a guns history.  I have lived in other states where they never do that and I feel they all need to and put the data on a national registry.   You can get a CCW permit to carry a gun under specific situations.  Substantial training is needed to get a permit--also as it should be.  Following this training, the phrase "use of deadly force" takes on a new which means to most trainees.  I have lived in some states that did not have a permit program and some exactly where permits have been offered without any education--not excellent conditions either way.  Guns are hazardous in the hands of criminals and untrained customers.    I completely support the second amendment while at the same time, I totally help our law enforcement groups trying to maintain individuals civilized sufficient to coexist in close proximity to every single other--I think properly made gun laws help law enforcement do their jobs.   I do hunt and my partner, shown in the picture above, would be quite disappointed if our shotguns had been taken away. woodchip 70 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. This state requires inspection and registration of hand guns.  They have a good system that creates a permanent record of a guns history.  I have lived in other states where they don't do that and I think they all should and put the data on a national registry.   You can get a CCW permit to carry a gun under certain conditions.  Substantial training is required to get a permit--also as it should be.  After this training, the phrase "use of deadly force" takes on a new meaning to most trainees.  I have lived in some states that didn't have a permit system and some where permits were provided without any training--not ideal situations either way.  Guns are dangerous in the hands of criminals and untrained users.    I fully support the second amendment while at the same time, I fully support our law enforcement groups trying to keep people civilized enough to coexist in close proximity to each other--I believe properly designed gun laws help law enforcement do their jobs.   I do hunt and my partner, shown in the picture above, would be very disappointed if our shotguns were taken away.

That's often referred to as the "Castle Doctrine" and several other states do have it. Personally, I can't fathom what makes it OK to kill someone just to protect your stuff. To protect your family? Sure, but not to save the TV.

The TX law should cut the crime rate & the incarceration of felons.   This will not happen because of a high body count, but would be thieves will learn that theft may have immediate consequences for their crimes.  There will be no probation, early release, parole, & so on with the other niceties.   Crimes are committed because the criminal does not see themselves as being arrested, tried, convicted, & put away.  The certainty of punishment is the deterrent.   The wrong question is the one asked of the wrong person & it encourages crime.  The question asked of the homeowner, "Is this TV worth someone's life.   The question that needs to be asked is, "Is there anything in that house that is worth your life"?

What Are The Gun Laws In Your State? Do You Agree With Them? Please Explain.

In Wyoming.... Permit to purchase handguns, rifles or shotguns? No. Registration of handguns, rifles or shotguns? No. Licensing of owners of handguns, rifles or shotguns? No. Permit to carry handguns, rifles or shotguns? No. So far, so good!Shall issue state(for ccw)? Yes. I?m a big fan of this.  People should be allowed to defend themselves."Wyoming legislators want to change state law to specify that homeowners couldn?t be prosecuted or sued in civil court if they kill anyone who enters their home illegally." Nice.  If you break into my home, I think it?s fair that you be removed from the gene pool! I believe in the doctrine of "an armed society is a polite society".  Look at the wild west... fairly peaceful outside of places like Tombstone(where firearms were banned 6 months before the OK corral shootout). Look at recent events like... 9/11... would it have happened if the airline passengers had been armed?  How about Virginia Tech?  How far would it have gone if everyone had been armed? Criminals will get guns if they want them.  Disarming innocent people only makes them easier prey.  Taking away their gun rights makes them easier prey.  Prosecuting people for shooting burglars in their own home is just ridiculous. crimson30 70 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
