What should I do about story? Ancient greece civilization?

I read a book on Ancient Greece for research on my story I'm writing....and I didn't realize how women were really treated in that time...like women were just properties and the prostitutes had more freedom than the average woman, daughter, or wife. The main character in my story is a girl and it does revolve around time travel...but I'm not sure how I can fit her into this kinda theme cause it feels like she's going to be extremely limited on what she can do because of the laws back then. What do you think I could do? Not giving whole story plot out, but you got the basic idea. I actually don't want to make up stuff like some stories do I actually wanna be slightly accurate >_<
What do you think I could do, I don't want her to be stuck inside all day or become a prostitute. Those other movies based on ancient greece left out these kinda things, and I thought it'd be ok to write a story on it but idk now! advice/??

You have to understand that different layers of society operated in different ways .

Yes it was true that the wives and daughters of a rich Aristocrat were not permitted to go wandering about the streets and were kept in seclusion at home , but this was much to do with the city being smelly and unhealthy and unsafe as much as any anal male control freakery .

But down the scale of course the far more typical ordinary women were out doing the daily womens tasks , including at the lowest end , hard manual work in agriculture , or producing textiles , as well as domestic tasks .

just move her off any high end perch you had her on , she'll have plenty to do .
