Out of all the Star Trek shows; original, TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise; which character do you most identify with and are most like?

What Star Trek Character Are You Most Like?

Postby Blithe » Tue Feb 11, 2014 11:22 am

...Captain Janeway.  I relate to her desire to help people, yet her need to be in charge and make sure everyone is following the rules(guess that makes me a wee bit of a control freak).    I've always felt that her driving force is to find the potential in everyone and make sure they have the tools they need to reach that potential.  I feel like that has been something I do as well.  As a manager, it was my job to make sure my employees had the tools they needed(training, equipment, software) to do their job.  It was also my job to ensure that they were treated fairly and respectfully.  I think Captain Janeway liked to manage her ship that way.  She knew Tom Paris was an excellent pilot, and gave him a second chance, even though he'd really screwed up.  She knew Chakotay was a good leader, so she made him second in command, even though his background wasn't all that spectacular(i.e. hard to trust).   This is probably way more philosophical than you were looking for, but, truthfully, I think I did relate to her character based on those management and leadership skills.

I have favorites in each series and I Busually rate Spock up first then Kirsk then, Archer, Janeway.  I?m one of the people that wrote to get star trek back on the air.(yep i?m showing my aga) But at this moment I would put Scotty up first. He drinks scotch!   He does a comic relief quite well "it was no tribble at all"  from the famous tribbles and klingons espisode "Captain! I can?t give you any more power to the warp drives" which I have used at work when we are melting down, And if Scotty wasn't there no one could ever be beamed up And now his ashes are to go into space and be spread around(which i think is so awesome) Finally on a more serious note he battled alzheimers with dignity and got his star on the  Hollywood walk of fame before he died. So that is my opinion right now but it might change next monday when the sci-fi channel has more episodes of Enterprise
