Postby oded » Tue Jul 31, 2012 4:05 am

A) sit on the money save up finish college fully pay for a house

B) invest the money into realastate and rent out some property right away even though im fairly new

C) stay at my apartment and save up for aslong as i can intill ive secured a job in my field of study after college

You won't be able to fully pay for a house with 25k unless you're not planning on having a family. Sit on it, let it earn some interest until you get everything around (job, stabilized life plans) then use it for a down payment on a place that you'll actually want to live in for awhile. You should be able to get a good rate putting a chunk down as well. You could invest it elsewhere but you'd need to speak with an accountant so you could decide what your life/financial goals are and how much you want to keep liquid, how long until you'll have access to it, etc. 25,000 sounds like a lot, but in the sum total scheme of your life it's not, so make sure you use this nice jump you've had injected wisely.

Never Real Estate! My family did it for several years and it completely ruined us. Renters won't keep up or they trash the place. Your best bet would be to go with choice A or C.
