Not sure what your seeking ???? advantages of course is to punish those that commit a crime and also discourages some to commit a crime. The disadvantages is that more and more they are eroding our Constitutional Right. Probable cause is the first thing that comes to mind... When they can set up road blocks to check for DWI's. (please note, I don't drink and drive, its a matter of our rights) They have ruled that it doesn't require probably cause "because they announce they are conducting them". In New Mexico, they consider your vehicle an extension of your home. So if they have a right to detain and basically search you because they announce it. Then what to stop them from announcing they will be searching homes. We the people have accepted / allowed this to happen... Next, they will be coming to your house and taking your hunting rifle and shotgun.
