Which double major should I do?

Postby crosbey » Sun Jul 22, 2012 7:07 pm

I plan on majoring in Finance but am really interested in another major. (I'll already have my 2 years of gen. ed. done with an AA cause I dual enroll right now, going to be a senior this year btw.)

I want to go into law enforcement, especially a federal agency.

I've thought about double majoring in Finance and International Studies with a focus in the Middle East and for my foreign language requirements taking Arabic. I feel like that would make me a more desired candidate for a job.

But I also really love history, and I have always been good at it, so I've thought about double majoring in Finance and History. I realize this doesn't exactly make me a more desired potential employer, but I feel like I have a real passion for history. I'm also open to other opinions about possible majors

FYI the college I want to attend I can't double major in two business fields unless it's a business field and information systems. (So no Finance and Accounting double major suggestions)

So which double major should I do?

Your passion might be history but you need to decide if that is a passion as a hobby or as an occupation. If it is not what you want as a job, then I would go with the Finance and International Studies with a minor in a language or a double major of Finance and Law with a minor in a language.

For law enforcement at the federal level, take accounting. The FBI hires a lot of accountants.
