Which is worse: Liberal economic policies or Conservative social policies?

Postby hussein » Sat Nov 19, 2011 4:43 am

Conservative social policies, which inevitably tend to severely limit personal freedom and individual liberty. Liberal economic policies DO NOT tend to severely limit economic progress and economic freedom. They do not drive emigration, which instead is driven by jobs and personal factors. They do not "tend to scare away small businesses with their burdensome taxes and regulations," since small businesses exist close to the homes of their owners. Moreover, it's a fallacy to claim that "burdensome regulations" are a disincentive to business creation or expansion. The fallacy implies that businesses will migrate to a place where people can't drink the water, breathe the air, eat the food, or enjoy the shade of a tree because unregulated polluters have poisoned everything.

Which is worse: Liberal economic policies or Conservative social policies?

This is absurd.

Of course liberal economic issues are worse.

Notice how liberal california banned gay marriage and did not pass a law that would allow marijuana to be legally sold and possessed? So are liberal "social policies" banning gayiage and marijuana?

Forget about it...

The "social issues" crap is a smoke screen.

Conservative social policies.

Liberals may get too economically involved, but if we had conservatives running the show, our unnecessary military spending would be even more through the roof than it is now. And any people who NEEDED welfare probably wouldn't get it as often.

I highly value the right to free expression and conservatives highly limit our free speech (unconstitutional) over the airwaves. And they try to enact legislation based on religious doctrine (also unconstitutional). They also are the ones fueling the drug cartels by keeping marijuana illegal.

Conservatives in general care more about economic issues and Liberals care more about social issues, generally speaking of course.

When you tax the wealthiest individuals at a higher rate, it means that the poorer folks, with less money to spare, will have more money to spare, thus going out to buy more ****. If we do not have money to spare we stop buying ****.

When the wealthy make record profits and the poor start losing jobs, houses, and **** like that, the money just sits and collects dust. Nobody wants to invest because nobody is buying their **** anymore.

Unfortunately, you have your 'information' wrong since it is the neo-left whom desire to enact laws to either restrict or make possible laws social conservatives believe are INHERENT TO MAN; read the Constitution: it does not 'grant rights' nut tells government what limits they have on what exists already! But using the limited restrictions of your stereotypical examples of "one equals all", I would have to vote for "liberal economics" being WORSE because those hurt EVERYONE, even gays and lesbians who cannot get 'married' in the false social conservative 'world' example.
