Conservative social policies, which inevitably tend to severely limit personal freedom and individual liberty. Liberal economic policies DO NOT tend to severely limit economic progress and economic freedom. They do not drive emigration, which instead is driven by jobs and personal factors. They do not "tend to scare away small businesses with their burdensome taxes and regulations," since small businesses exist close to the homes of their owners. Moreover, it's a fallacy to claim that "burdensome regulations" are a disincentive to business creation or expansion. The fallacy implies that businesses will migrate to a place where people can't drink the water, breathe the air, eat the food, or enjoy the shade of a tree because unregulated polluters have poisoned everything.
