Which parties benefit from divorce ?

Postby burdett » Mon Jul 30, 2012 7:03 am

Alongside lawyers, who benefits from the massive rate of divorce? Obviously it can be bad for coupled, but who benefits?

Does the government benefit in anyway? Is divorce like a business for the government? If so, how do?

creditors and the government benefit from a divorce. the financial tranwreck that ensues means the loansharks can jack up your interest rates, and the government benefits because you can no longer file taxes jointly.

eidt - thanks for the thumbs down from someone who obviously has never been divorced so doesn't know what its like to go through it.

Actually to the government it is a cost to the taxpayers for the magistrate and judge's time as well as the clerks office to do the noticing, summons, subpoenas....etc.(Filing fees and fees to issue summons do not cover the expense) Mediation and parenting class costs are born by the parties. The Justice System as a whole is a great cost to society.

Lawyers win, mediators win, guardian ad litem wins....that's about it.
