Why are the british government and police so pathetic?

a kid got arrested because he tweeted to an olympic diver that he let his dad down (because his dads dead and the diver didnt get any medals)
the police actually tracked his ip and arrested this 17 year old because of this. no physical harm. just a petty little tweet.

its not just that, our government are spineless basterds who didnt deal with the london rioters like they should of done. instead they have pathetic police laws which stop them from being strict and giving the rioters the battering they so rightly deserve.

our government and politicians are too afraid to voice their true opinion such as the immigration problem incase some people might have a little cry about 'racism'. we open our doors to everyone that comes here.

stuff like this just makes me want to leave england and never look back.

I totally agree! The tweet arrest was way out of line. If that was 'hurtful speech' then most people would be in UK Custody right now - it was probably a gimmick to promote 'morality' or some other cheesy fluff to do with the olympics. What makes Tom Daley so special? A lot of people are victims of hurtful speech on the internet, and loss of loved ones. Sometimes both. Despicable.

It wasn't a petty little tweet, the lad was a cerial online bully, he posted hatefull videos on youtube. He didn't just tweet to Tom Dealey, It's just thats when people realised who he was and what he was doing. He needs to be told what he's doing is wrong and if he honestly believes what he is doing is ok, he needs help. The immigration problem is not racist. Anyone that thinks it is needs to give their head a shake. Just because there are 700k immigrants lost in the country, us sending them back isn't racist it's fair, however, insulting a whole race for the actions of one person is racist.

I agree. Being part of the European union sucks, as most of the stupid laws comes from it. The problem isn't really immigration, half of the actual English population are people who do bad at school and claim benefits - so the government makes the exams easier to make the grades look better, then you get the other half all achieving top grades.

The police couldn't really do much against the riots - because they had no power from government to do anything. Government listen to the majority of people, who are the idiots going around trashing the country, because they can get a vote to get into parliament. And if the government had anyone that did voice an opinion, they get taken to court for no good reason so the process of getting anything done takes a long time. It's just like someone breaks into a house, cuts himself on a knife that was lying around on the side, and the robber sues the person who lives in the house.

I believe I have the right to say all of this with freedom of speech - but that really doesn't exist.


Edit: oh and the guy who said that to Tom Daley was wrong, but to arrest him? Why didn't you arrest everyone at the London riots?

Randy, why do you come to that conclusion? All he's said is the police shouldn't be snooping on tweets to olympic athletes and should perhaps pursue real crimes.
