To back up Williams claim, was the non Partisan Kato Institute Report back in March that determined the Real Unemployment Rate Problem with Obama was at 18.1%. Some people don't think mathematically. Numbers don't mean anything to them, but they feel that something has to be done. So obama makes them feel good by doing something. It doesn't matter whether it's the right thing - as long as it's some thing.
So when obama gives a speech and says that things are improving, they believe him because they like him. You, on the other hand, are just trying to confuse them with numbers.

They don't, however that % was seen after the Bush/Reagan recession as well.

K, time to, once again, refute everything you just said. FDR= 22% Unemployment then because of the GREAT DEPRESSION which was brought on by Harding, Coolidge, and Hoover (all conservative presidents.) North Dakota is seemingly bypassing this recession due to their being oddly located in a job boom (not due to Conservative political decisions.) Actually, I've heard that Fargo, ND is on track to become a new Silicon Valley. Strange, huh? Also, I'm really not believing that nearly 1 in 4 Americans are unemployed, unless you count stay-at-home-moms (by choice... or and dads too I guess), non-working teenagers, and children into those numbers as well.
