Hypocrisy. Both create a black market.

Why do you treat liberals as if they are a monolithic group that don't have different opinions on these issues.

It's more of like,: Hey, you won't let us smoke weed, then we won't let you own guns.

Please feel free to generalize and think that all liberals want to ban guns. I'm sure there are some out there, but generally most of us would like to see assault weapons banned and expanded magazines banned. It doesn't threaten your 2nd amendment rights to slow you down while you're killing people.

I'm hoping the liberals get their way on this one. I can't think of anything that would play more toward putting my expertise to use in order to get rich than a ban on guns.

Please liberals, create the market. I can't lose on that one.

You're right - it is a logical inconsistency - as is the reverse position taken by cons. How on earth did we get here?

Although, to be fair to the libs, they do have the argument that shooting up drugs is not harming anyone else, which can't be said about movie theatres....

Drug laws create conditions where killing enemies is seen as a useful option. Part of the reason is that the desire for drugs is built into many animals, including humans.

The desire to owning guns, however, is not built into animals, not even human. Having fewer guns, and ending the ownership of automatic, high-power arms, would not cause violence, but would decrease it.

So, the general answer is: Limiting gun ownership saves lives, and so does decriminalizing drugs.
